On Off

Sex

Your Ad Here

The Purpose of this ad is to sell advertising space.

The intended audience is for businesses and companies looking for ad space, but I think that’s not the audience that is going to notice it.

It’s a billboard sign with a woman’s butt with the text “Your Ad Here” on her bathing suit.

Its high contrast of Blue Ocean and blue bathing suit against the skin tone and white text.

With the high contrast of color, Perception. Sensation, because it is sexual. Emotion, mostly to men because it is sexual and a women.

I think it is really demining to women. Our cultural has high stereotypes for men and women and is very “sex sells” oriented.

It’s going to catch attention, and for a bill board that what you want.

Fruit

Aides

The Purpose of this ad is public service annocment to promote aides awareness.

The intended audience is to permisques men and women.

It’s two different pictures of a man and a women in intement settings with insects. And it has the Aides ribbon down in the corner.

The pictures are very dominant and eye catching because of the risqué nature, and the text you kind of have to look for.

Sensation, because of the sexuality of it. And Identification, because a lot of people can relate to one night stands.

We are a very permiques culture, and sometimes the body overpowers the mind and people don’t always make the right disisons.

Because of its nature it is eye catching. But you have to look hard to see what the ad is for.

Men's Magazine

The purpose of this ad is to promote this men’s magazine.

The intended audience is to men looking for something new in there life.

It’s a men sitting at his desk with a swimsuit modal calendar next to him, but instead of a picture it’s a real girl. The text is very small in the bottom corner.

I don’t thing they work well together because the picture and the text don’t work well together.

Sensation and Emotion, because of the sexuality of it. And maybe a little bit of identification, to men who feel like this guy in the picture.

There are two cultural stereotypes here. One that women are just objects and two that men are all pigs.

Its too hard to see what this ad is for, you think its for a calendar not a magazine.

PETA

The purpose of this ad is to get the public aware of elephant cruelty in Thai.

The intended audience is for animal rights activist.

It’s a naked man chained up with text saying, “Wild animals don’t belong in chains.”

Very high contrast, but I don’t think they work well together. What dose a naked man have to do with PETA?

Perception, because of the high contrast between the white background and skin tones. Sensation, because of the naked man. Emotion, if you read the text and feel for the elephants.

The cultural values are that a man is a wild animal and should not have to be tied down. I think of the idea of married men with the “old ball and chain”. Also that people value animals, but really if you didn’t read the text your wouldn’t even think of elephants.

The Picture and the text do don’t work together. You can’t take the elephant cruelty seriously when it is being compared to a naked man.

Why People Vacation

The major reasons people go on vacation, ranked by survey results, include:
To build and strengthen relationships. The number one reason for going on vacation is to be together as a family. Families find they have little time to be alone together. They want to get away from the stress of home and work. They look to travel as an opportunity to rekindle relationships. Many also seek social interactions on trips, and view vacations as a time for making new friends.

To improve health and wellbeing. The vast majority of adults say that a vacation is vital to their family's physical and mental well being. Most travelers want to refresh and renew themselves by actively participating in outdoor activities.

To rest and relax. Getting away from work, worry, and effort enables vacationers to refresh and renew. This is the third most common reason why Americans vacation.

To have an adventure. Many travelers look to vacations for exciting experiences that stir emotions. Adventure, whether dangerous or romantic, provides the heightened sensation that these consumers seek.

To escape. Many people travel to gain respite from routines, worry, and stress. They are looking for something different: a better climate, prettier scenery, slower pace of life, cleaner air, quieter surroundings or anything else that is missing or deficient in their lives back home.

For knowledge. Learning and discovery are strong motivators for today's better-educated travelers. People travel to learn or practice a language, study a culture, explore gourmet foods or wines, investigate spirituality, discover something about themselves, or a host of other learning pursuits. They want to see, touch, or feel something unfamiliar.

To mark a special occasion. Some travelers take vacations to celebrate milestones in their lives: new relationships, marriages, birthdays, or professional achievements. Vacations that mark special occasions are usually taken with loved ones and provide memories that last a lifetime.

To save money or time. Although going on vacation almost always costs money and time, where one goes on vacation can influence costs. Money and time constrain virtually every vacation decision. By traveling close to home, or taking a short vacation, travelers can save time and money.

To reminisce. Many people travel to relive fond memories. In the case of agritourism, some vacationers, especially older travelers, will choose a farm visit to rekindle memories of the simple, rural lifestyle they remember from childhood. Vacationers pay money for food, lodging, transportation, and souvenirs, but they are really buying a sentimental journey.

1000 Word Essay

When i think of the Grand Valley, the first thing i think of is the college. Mesa State College is the only reason i even know of Grand Junction.  The college is expanding rapidly, there is a lot of construction going on, on campus and it has been going on for as long as iv been here.
The drive to Grand Junction is a beautiful drive.  The first time i was on I 70 it was very scary, because it was snowing and me, my finance Matt and his parents were driving in the dark and got in a car wreck because of the bad roads.  But the trip back to Denver was much better and in the daytime the views were beautiful.  The landscape charges so frequently.  It would go from vast plains with buttes in the far distance to being right in the middle of the forests of the Cocky Mountains.  You can see a lot of different wild life if you are a passenger in the car, Don't look around if you driving thought because you might fall of a Cliff.  The highway goes right by the Colorado River and there are lots of exits you can get off and admire the scenery.  And if your feeling adventures you can walk around on man trails.  On one of our trips i was with my aunt Poxy and Matt and his mom Cheryl and we were walking down to the river.  Matt and i were up the trail a little ways and we hear the two women in front of us scream.  We came around the corner to find my aunt about three feet be hide here shoes that were neatly standing were she once was.  Apparently a snake had scared the two and Roxy jumped backwards and her slip on sandals did not come with her.
One thing about this area is there seems to be a lot of not so nice parts of town and some very "trashy" people who live there.  Don't get me wrong i know a lot of wonderful "townies" from Grand Junction.  My best friend for the last few years of my living here was born and raised here and she is a awesome good person.  But there seems to be a lot of drugs here and a lot of people on them.  Meth being one of the drugs of chose it seems. Ask my finance Matt, he works at the Mesa Mall and he sees a lot of strange people. Man times he has to deal with people in dirty cloths, reeking of whiskey, most likely they just got their welfare checks coming in to buy a big screen TV.  But I'm sure this place has no more of these people that any other city.
A lot of People drive trucks around here, almost everywhere you go you can find a big lift on a truck sitting in a parking lot somewhere.  This is probably because there are a lot of oil workers here from the rigs.  The rigs are really a good thing for Grand Junction, even though a lot of people might think different.  They pump a lot of money into the economy, they give money to the hotels they stay at and the food joints and grocery stores that they eat at and of course any hard working person wants a night on the town at the bars they drink at after a long week.
Other vehicles you see around town are jeeps.  This I'm sure is because of the deserts and there hills to go four wheeling on.  Four wheeling fills up man a boring afternoon for a lot of different people.  Whether it is just for any afternoon or a weekend going out to the desert happededs to be something a lot of people around here seem to enjoy.  Camping is a recreational thing to do in the Grand Valley.  I myself have never been here but i have been in many other places around the Mountain Time Zone.
One of my favorite parts about Grand Junction is the weather. The Climate here is so mild.  It really doesn't get horribly cold in the winter and doesn't gt overly hot in the summer.  I walk everywhere, my house s placed between the grocery store and the collage where i spend most of my time and work where i spend the other half of my time.  So being able to walk to all of them without freezing or roasting is very nice.
This is also why there are so many homeless people in the area, they seem to like the mild climate here as well.  Grand Junction has a lot of beautiful parks within the cit limits and one of witch has been home to many homeless over the years.
Grand Junction is a great place to be if you are into the outdoors and all its glory. Driving in any witch direction you will find something fun to do.  in the winter skiing and snow boarding are just up the mountains.  In the warmer months you can go dirt biking or hiking on many trails from easy to more risky, adventures ones.  The river is great for rafting and finding swimming holes.  With all of the hills around rock climbing is a big hit.  Lakes and streams are fun for fishing.
There are a lot of orchards and vinegars around the area.  Many places serve local wine and fruit.  In the fall you cant walk into a grocery store without seeing piles of fresh local peaches for sale.  Ever year they have a celebration for all the hard work put into the orchards, with the peach festival every fall.  wine tasting is also a very popular thing to do.  Any crackers with that wine?
Christmas time here is also a great time for celebration.  The main street parade is always a big hit.  Hot chocolate and chili warm the cold winter chills.
